The Rules. Empty
PostSubject: The Rules.   The Rules. Icon_minitimeWed Jun 24, 2009 2:13 pm

Alright, here are the rules for the forum. Please keep in mind that these rules are subject to change if I or any of the other moderators believe that new things need to be enforced. These rules should be respected and the disregarding of these rules (depending on the level of ignorance) will subject you to being either confronted by the moderators or immediately disbanded from the forum.

1. Don't flame each other. This site is set up for debate, not for arguing. If someone disagrees with you, rather than call them a dick, organize a proper rebuttal to their statement. Otherwise, if you feel that someone is being difficult or won't keep their cool on a subject, please notify a moderator before beginning a flame war.

2. Swearing is completely fine, as long as it isn't used against one another. The statement "The Head on the Door by The Cure is a shitty and poorly produced album" is acceptable, whereas the statement "You're a shit head for thinking that The Head on the Door is any good" is not. Be respectful to the members on the forum at all times, and leave the persecution of rule-breakers to the moderators.

3. Before posting a topic, be sure that no one has made the same topic before you. Duplicate posts are a waste of site space and only cause for cluttering of the site.

4. When posting a topic, make the title of the topic descriptive and make sure it clearly describes what you are intending to post. For example: in the help section, don't post something with the title "I have a question." Describe what that question is and what it pertains to.

5. When replying to a post or giving a suggestion in a suggestion box topic, make sure you are posting the proper suggestions in the proper area. We don't want to see Kabuki Quantam Fighter as an album review idea. Also, the suggestion box topic under "General Forum Info" is specifically made for forum and site suggestions; not review suggestions of any kind. Review suggestions go in either the Record Review Suggestions or the Retro Review Suggestions area.

6. Try hard to stay on topic in discussion. If a post begin to stray from the original conversation, consider starting a new topic that follows the strayed-to discussion.

7. If you have any problems with members on the forum or decisions that have been made regarding the site, please report them to a moderator through a PM (private message). Try your best not to make your grievances public.

8. Do not post anyone's personal information anywhere on the forum without proper consent. Personal information can be anything from photos to emails to phone numbers.

9. Try not to post too much media in your messages. Posting a lot of pictures and videos can really slow the topics' loading times and be a real pain. If for some reason you need to post a lot of media, make sure to consult a moderator first.

10. Please avoid duplicate posting; it's a waste of space. If you accidentally post something twice, please have the courtesy to delete the duplicate. If you post a duplicate topic on accident, just tell a moderator and they should be happy to remove it for you.

11. Please remember that this forum is open to all ages and persons, so please use common sense when posting messages. Don't post any extreme mature content such as pornography or links to anything of the sort on the site. Simply be respectful to all members on the site.

12. If you happen to see someone breaking one of these rules, please report it. Don't wait for someone else to come forward and say something. You will always be kept anonymous and your vigilant actions will be greatly appreciated by the other members of the forum.

If you feel like something should be added to this list, consult a moderator with your ideas. Otherwise, please abide by these rules and have a good time on the forum!
